FAQS about Parma Brand Products -
Q: How long do the salamis last?
A: Until you are done eating it. All of our salamis are dry-cured, therefore keeping it in the refrigerator and wrapped as tightly as possible will prevent drying out
Q: Should I freeze the salami?
A: No. The salamis or any of our dry-cured products do not require freezing.
Q: How long can I travel with the salamis without refrigeration?
A: We like to tell our customers to keep the salamis refrigerated up until you leave for your destination. Please refrigerate as soon as possible. We always recommend putting everything in a cooler, especially for prolonged trips in the car.
Q: How long can I keep the sausage in the refrigerator?
A: We recommend no longer than 3 days in the refrigerator. If you do not plan on cooking it within this time period, our sausage freezes very well. If cooked, it can stay in the freezer for up to 6 months. If fresh, it can stay in the freezer for 3 months. Remember, not all freezers maintain the same temperature, so this will vary depending on yours.
Q: Can I freeze the Capicollo or your other cooked products?
A: Our Capicollo, Salami Rosa, and Mortadella can be frozen; however, we like to tell our customers to buy only the amounts they know they will consume. Air and heat are the enemies, keep packages sealed and in the refrigerator. Any discoloration in the product is a sign that it is past its shelf life. Our Kolbassi, Andouille, and Chorizo can stay for a couple of weeks in its original packaging (air tight seal) in the refrigerator. These products freeze well and can last for an extended period of time, again depending on your freezer.
